John Doherty
Sports Betting Analyst — Verification & Compliance
Background
À propos de John
A lifelong sports fan, John has followed the Belgian betting market closely, from paper coupons to today's live platforms. That curiosity about how the industry really works led him naturally toward verification and compliance.
Before joining LiveSportsBetting.be, he spent several years following Belgian football news and the regulatory shifts in the gambling sector, particularly since the decree of 6 February 2020 came into force. That period shaped how he works: always verify information at the source rather than take an operator's word for it.
In practice, John checks the official Belgian Gaming Commission register every week, tests new features announced by bookmakers himself (cash out, bet builder, mobile apps), and updates the ranking as soon as a real change is confirmed, not just when an operator announces one.
“Every odd, every licence, every term has to be verified at the source, never just copied from an operator's own site.”

John's checks feed the content you can read on the site. His verification work is behind our ranking of licensed Belgian bookmakers, our odds comparison and our live betting ranking.
What his verification covers
Each operator is checked against the official register on gamingcommission.be, then tested on the features it announces: cash out, bet builder and mobile apps. The ranking is updated as soon as a real change is confirmed.
You can follow the results in our betting guides and news and read the predictions of the day.
